I grew up in Timaru, a small town on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. I had an idyllic and stable childhood with my 3 brothers.

I went to Otago and Victoria Universities and studied Theatre, Film and English graduating with a BA Hons. After university I was ready to leave New Zealand to see the world. I worked in USA, Australia and finally settled in the United Kingdom in 2003.

My first job in London was working as a receptionist for an Italian catering company earning £12,000 per year. I have always been ambitious and punch above my weight and I didn’t want to be a receptionist for long. Shortly after I was appointed Sales and Marketing Manager for their event catering division.

I worked in other roles in events and hospitality and in 2007 I obtained a Marketing Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Through my 14 years’ experience in the hospitality and events industry spanning 3 continents I built extensive skills in customer service, communications, attention to detail and teamwork.

I was made redundant in 2008 when the great economic recession hit and I had to start thinking more broadly about my career path.

My husband and I decided to join forces and On Tap Plumbers was born in November 2009 as a domestic plumbing firm operating in north London.

I saw an opportunity where the general public didn’t trust tradesmen and wanted to build a brand and business that people would have confidence in.

We had big ambitions and set out to build a large scale plumbing business that would be synonymous with quality and reliability and take the lions share of the market in London.

In 2014 we saw an opportunity with the growth of construction in London and the small number of plumbing businesses operating in the commercial sector. We made the strategic decision to move away from the consumer market. On Tap Plumbers evolved into a commercial plumbing company focusing on the installation of mechanical public health systems in refurbished and new developments.

As the London landscape has dramatically changed over the last 10 years we have been at the heart of that construction. We have been contracted to create landmarks developments in London such as:

  • The Cheesegrater – 122 Leadenhall St

  • The Walkie Talkie – 20 Fenchurch, the Sky Garden

  • 48 Leceister Square famously housing the largest Lego shop

  • Facebook Headquarters

  • Wood Wharf – 365 apartment tower at Canary Wharf

We have accomplished accelerated growth from small beginnings as a domestic plumbing firm to the multi-million pound business that we are running today. Now I am the CEO and co-founder of ATRA group which offers building services to the London property industry.
